Your TEMAK Salt Spray Test Chamber has arrived safely. What's next?
Don't worry. At TEMAK, we deliver more than just equipment; we deliver a complete service process.
We have outlined a standardized 6-step workflow from receipt of the chamber to completing your first test, ensuring you can get started easily and test with confidence.
Our service engineer will be on-site to unbox the chamber with you and execute the standardized handover procedure:
Visual Inspection: Confirm the chamber has no shipping damage such as dents, deformation, or scratches.
Accessory Inventory: Verify all accessories against the checklist.
Standard accessories typically include: Operation manual, Controller manual, Glass nozzles, Filters, Graduated cylinders & collectors, NaCl, Optional pure water system, pH meter, Salinity meter, Various installation pipes/fittings, and Sample racks.
Please ensure the following conditions are met before the chamber is installed:
| Item | Requirement | Explanation |
Ambient Environment | 18-28°C, ≤85% RH | Avoid direct sunlight. A dedicated room is recommended. |
Power Supply | AC220V/380V ±10%, Independent circuit breaker | Must include leakage protection. |
Air Supply | ≥5 Kg/cm², Clean, dry compressed air | An air filter/regulator with oil-water separator is mandatory. |
Water Supply | Pure water recommended (Resistivity ≥0.5 MΩ·cm) | Prevents nozzle and line clogging from mineral deposits. |
Exhaust & Drain | Separate drain and exhaust pipes. Exhaust must vent outdoors. | Prevents corrosion of the indoor environment and equipment. |
Our service engineer will handle the connections, pressure adjustment, and provide comprehensive training:
Connection: Secure all water, air, and drain lines, ensuring no leaks.
Pressure Adjustment: Set the spray pressure regulator to a stable 1.0 ± 0.1 kg/cm².
Salt Solution Preparation (for 5% Neutral Salt Spray):
Use the provided NaCl and pure water.
Mix at a ratio of 50g NaCl per 950ml of pure water.
Use the salinity meter and pH meter to calibrate, ensuring concentration and pH (6.5-7.2) meet standards.
First, fill the Saturation Tower: For initial use or when low, add pure water to the tower via its fill port. TEMAK chambers feature auto-fill to a precise ball-float controlled level.
Then, fill the Salt Solution Tank: Add the prepared 5% salt solution to the main solution tank. This is the spray "reservoir."
Power On & Preheat: Start the chamber and set temperatures (e.g., Chamber: 35°C, Saturation Tower: 47°C). During warm-up, the water level in the tower may rise slightly due to thermal expansion—this is normal.
Operation Monitoring: Once spraying begins, compressed air will continuously carry moisture from the tower. The water level should decline slowly and steadily. A rapid drop indicates a potential leak. TEMAK chambers are equipped with a "Low Saturation Tower Water Level" alarm which will automatically shut down the unit to prevent heater damage.
Our engineer provides on-site training covering:
Start-up & Navigation: Power on the touchscreen controller and familiarize yourself with the interface.
Select Test Mode: Choose, for example, "Neutral Salt Spray (NSS) Test."
Set Key Parameters:
Chamber Temperature: 35.0°C
Saturation Tower Temperature: 47.0°C
Spray Duration: Set for the first run (e.g., 24h).
Place Samples & Collectors:
Place samples on the racks at a 15°-30° angle, with ≥2cm spacing between them.
Position the 80 cm² collection cups at standard locations inside the chamber (per ASTM B117).
Start the Test: Click "Run," close the chamber lid. The test begins automatically.
Document Sign-off: Jointly sign the Acceptance Form, Accessory Checklist, and Function Verification Form.
Real-time Monitoring: View temperature, time, and alarm status on the touchscreen.
Settlement Rate Verification (Post-test):
After the test, use a graduated cylinder to measure the volume collected in each cup.
The standard collection rate is 1.5 ± 0.5 ml/h per 80 cm².
Shutdown Procedure: Stop spray → Activate demisting (if applicable) → Open lid and remove samples → Drain remaining salt solution → Wipe down the chamber interior.
Routine Maintenance:
Clean the chamber interior walls and nozzles after each test.
Regularly check filters, water levels, and pipe seals.
